Social Studies
Last week we began a new unit in Social Studies: History and Culture. Students are learning about important figures in Raleigh's history, including Sir Walter Raleigh, Joel Lane, William Christmas, and Moses Mordecai. This week we will begin focusing on the Civil Rights movement and pivotal historical moments throughout that time period in North Carolina.
Vocabulary: events, individuals, culture, influence, contribution, regional, communities, development, perspectives
