We wrap up our Module 2 FROGS unit this week! Students will complete any unfinished writing and their trading card, and assemble their Freaky Frog Books. They turned out great! Can't wait for you to see all of our hard work!
On Wednesday we begin Module 3: "Exploring Literary Classics. Please see 'Resources' in the top toolbar of this website and click on "Module 3" for more information.
The research reading throughout this module will be literary classics. This is defined as any novel written before students were born. Classic examples include Roald Dahl, Beverly Cleary, C.S. Lewis. This module is a great opportunity to share with students your favorite books growing up!
Math
We begin a new unit in math this week: Reasoning with Shapes and Their Attributes. We will begin by learning that shapes have attributes (defining features) and identifying those attributes within quadrilaterals including squares, rhombi, rectangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids.
Science
Students are learning the following key concepts through hands-on exploration and direct instruction:
Key Concept 1: Matter (solids, liquids, and gases) has structure and properties which can be determined by observation.
Key Concept 2: Matter can can change states (for example, heat transfer)
We will wrap this unit up this week and take a test on Friday.
